New music video and Thailand!

Jennifer Shaw Music February, 2012

Hello!Jennifer Shaw

Have you ever felt like life was moving so fast you couldn't catch your breath?  I know so many of you can relate.  That's been our last two months, and yet God is always our calm in the storm.  I've had reasons to rejoice and reasons to weep, and in it all, God is so faithful!

One of our reasons to rejoice is that I have a new song just out called, "Life Not Typical."  We wrote it to go with my new book, Life Not Typical: How Special Needs Parenting Changed My Faith and My Song.  As I was writing the book, I was thinking about how our lives are never typical when we live them with the Lord.  I wanted to write a song that would reflect the joy I feel at having Him in my life.  This past month we made it into a music video as well, and it is brand, spanking new!  You can check it out here - let us know what you think!  The song just went to radio and is already picking up momentum.  Please help us by requesting it at your local station - we appreciate that so much!

My book, Life Not Typical, is also doing well.  It's been featured on several radio and television programs, and I've been hearing from many people who are telling me how much they've enjoyed it and been touched by it.  For me personally the most gratifying thing is hearing that people are getting help for their kids after reading it.  I just love knowing we have a little part in that.

We also can't believe it is already February, and that means that my husband and I are leaving soon for Thailand.  We're going with Remember Nhu, a group that is working to save children from trafficking.  This time next week, we will be in Chiang Mai.  I can't wait to share with you what we will be seeing and how God is working there.  We will try to keep our facebook and blog updated while we're there so you can experience it with us!

Speaking of the blog, there's all kinds of info and pictures there on the video shoot and World Vision's Artists Conference and lots of other happenings I couldn't cover here - check it out!

On the other side of things, we've had some really hard issues going on as well.  Personally, many of my close relatives and friends have been dealing with very significant health concerns and testing.  It's just been a wave.  I've also made the very difficult decision to step down from my position as the Music Director at my church.  I've been there for twelve years and I love them and the job dearly, but I need more time for my family as this ministry expands.  Through a lot of prayer, this is where the Lord has led me.  If I've learned nothing else in the past several years, I absolutely know that God is trustworthy, and that the very best place to be in life is right in the middle of His will.

Thanks so much for keeping in touch with us!  We love to hear from you, and wepray for every request that we get.  We also so appreciate your prayers for us, and for this ministry.

In Christ,

Jennifer

About Jennifer Shaw Music
Singer, songwriter, speaker, worship leader and now author Jennifer Shaw recently topped the national Christian radio charts with a # 3 hit song "Your Great Name." After being classically-trained as an opera singer at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, Jennifer became a professor of music at Cedarville University before she felt led into her current role as a contemporary worship leader. Her testimony includes tragedy and triumph, being the parent of a special needs child, and losing her father to Lou Gehrig's disease. Her newest CD, Love Broke Through, with three singles on Billboard's Top 40, features songs that offer hope in any circumstance and also reflects her recent experiences on the mission field in Africa and the UK.
