All Will Come When Jesus Really Returns Does anyone out there need encouragement? I do, and often. There are so many things in this world, and in our culture that just depress me. When I feel like that, I love to look at the promises of the Lord. Do you know that it's not always going to be like this? There is another time coming, and for those who love the Lord, it will be glorious! In Isaiah 2:2 it says, "In the last days the mountain of the LORD's temple will be established... and all nations will stream to it." In Isaiah 60: 1-6 "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you... Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn... And all...will come, bearing gold and incense and proclaiming the praise of the LORD." And in Isaiah 49:7 it says: "Kings will see you and rise up, princes will see and bow down, because of the LORD, who is faithful." I love thinking about that day when Christ returns and all nations will stream toward the truth of the Lord! How wonderful that will be. We have already seen a foreshadowing of this in Jesus' birth when the Wise Men (Kings of the East) came and bowed before Jesus, bringing gold, frankincense, and myrrh. When Christ comes again, it will be all nations. And this time they will just bring gold and incense. Why? Because gold is for Jesus' Kingship, incense is for His Priestship, and myrrh is for His death. But in that day, there will be no more death, no need for myrrh. He has conquered it! Rev. 21:1-4 "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth ... And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.'" Can you picture it? Isn't it amazing? When our world makes us despair, we need to remember that God has a bigger plan, and that this is temporary - His reign is forever! Let's fix our eyes on Him, and remember His promises because He is faithful and He will do it! |
